Phil TrinterPhil Trinter


Phil Trinter, 29, from Lorain, Ohio is a former college football player and World Champion Star Class sailor who is a grinder on the team. Like several of his AmericaOne crewmates, Trinter is setting his sights on the America's Cup and a campaign for Olympic Gold in Sydney in 2000 with sailmaker and skipper Mark Reynolds.

Trinter has competed once before in America's Cup boats, sailing with Dennis Conner aboard Stars and Stripes in San Diego in 1995. He was a member of the United States Sailing Team 1993-98 and World Champion in Stars in 1992. In 1997 Trinter was part of the winning Bacardi Cup crew.

Educated at Indiana University, Trinter played football and represented his school in four bowl games. When not sailing, he likes to go fishing.
