Terry Hutchinson

Terry Hutchinson, a 31-year-old sailmaker from Annapolis, MD, says he has packed 28 years of sailing experience into his young life. His job is mainsheet trimmer.
A newcomer to America's Cup sailing, Hutchinson has enjoyed many successes in national and international sailing championships. He was the 1998 J/24 World Champion, crowning a year in which he also won the J/24 North American and Midwinter championships, and the One Design 35 national championships. That year Hutchinson was also the overall IMS winner at GMC Yukon Yachting Key West Race Week aboard Bright Star.
Sailing with John Kostecki, he was tactician aboard the Farr 40 Flash Gordon, and the 1D35 Roxanne, and has taken part in iIllbruck Around the World Challenge training.
Hutchinson is a 1990 graduate of Old Dominion University located in Norfolk, Virginia. He lists his interests outside of sailing as his family and skiing. He is married to Shelly and they have one son, Elias.
