Don Anderson

Tender Operations Manager

Don Anderson has been working with AmericaOne since 1997 when he captained AmericaOne's 1992 America's Cup boat, Il Moro de Venezia V, on San Francisco Bay. In 1998 his role on the team changed when he moved to New Zealand to set-up the AmericaOne compound and prepare the boats for training. Anderson is responsible for the tender operations program at AmericaOne overseeing a fleet of six boats. His team spends their days on the water supporting AmericaOne's IACC boats.

Anderson has been involved in the America's Cup since 1980 when he sailed as bowman aboard Clipper with Russell Long in Newport, RI. In 1992, he worked with Paul Cayard and the Il Moro de Venezia Italian America's Cup program with fellow shore team members Marc Cosbey and Brad Fitzgerald. Since then he has worked on both the syndicate side and organizing side of the America's Cup.

When not involved with the America's Cup he teaches Naval and Commercial Ship Handling at Marine Safety International. He likes to spend his time off the water mountain biking, hiking and golfing. Anderson lives in San Diego, California.
