The Founders' Club is an enthusiastic group of individual supporters committed to bringing the America's Cup to San Francisco. Founders' Club support provides a financial bridge until corporate sponsorships are secured.
Founders have plenty of opportunities to share their excitement and pride in this campaign. Special Founder sails aboard AmericaOne allow this group to experience the dream they are helping to support: America's Cup class sailing under the Golden Gate bridge, around Alcatraz, and up the City Front. A Ladies' Day sail even included a special luncheon presentation by skipper Paul Cayard and a fashion show by the AmericaOne crew. In addition to receptions and parties that are held throughout the year, Founders' Club members also will travel to the AmericaOne designers' office in San Diego in the coming months.
Founders' Club officers also were treated to an exclusive conference call with Cayard from Cape Town, South Africa, in which he shared exciting and inspiring stories of his victorious first leg of the Whitbread Round the World Race. These special updates from the AmericaOne skipper are an ongoing benefit of Founder participation, and are also included in the Founders' Club newsletter. A group of Founders will head to Auckland in late January to give a rousing send-off to Cayard and the EF Language crew as they depart for Leg 5 of the Whitbread.
There are several levels at which you can join the Founders' Club and because AmericaOne is a 501(c)3 foundation, all donations are tax deductible:
