AmericaOne Team Members Dominate Volvo-California Cup RegattaABOUT THE CHALLENGE

Marina Del Ray, CA - (June 1, 1999) -- Over the weekend AmericaOne tactician John Kostecki and Morgan Larson posted wins in their respective classes during one of California's premier sailing regattas. Hosted by the California Yacht Club in Marina Del Rey, the California Cup with over a 100 boats competing in two days of great racing on Santa Monica Bay.
John Kostecki acting as tactician aboard John Kilroy's Farr 40 "Samba Pa Ti," dominated the competitive one design class. In the other Grand Prix division, Morgan Larson as Tactician on Bob Richard's "Taxi Dancer" won the California 70 class.
Just down the road in Long Beach, many of the AmericaOne team members, have been working day and night to put the finishing touches on our summer base and training platform. Shortly, the team will be all together again soon testing our new AC boat on the waters between Long Beach and Catalina.
AmericaOne is dedicated to recapturing the America's Cup by applying U.S. technology in computer equipment, aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, sail design, naval architecture and structural engineering to America's Cup sailboat design. Technology partners include Hewlett-Packard Company, Telcordia Technologies/SAIC and Ford Motor Company/Visteon. The AmericaOne team is comprised of 43 professionals, including 30 members of the design team actively working on the research and design of its sailboats. Operating since June 1, 1996, AmericaOne is the challenger on behalf of San Francisco's St. Francis Yacht Club.
