Virgin Islands Group Names Designer

ST. THOMAS, USVI (March 8, 1997) — The Virgin Islands America’s Cup Foundation has named Pedrick Yacht Designs of Newport, R.I., to head the challenger's design program.

Naval architect David Pedrick, president of the design firm, will serve as principal designer. Pedrick has been involved in seven America's Cup campaigns, including Cup winners Courageous and Stars & Stripes.
