NEWPORT, R.I. — AmericaOne tactician John Kostecki is a winner again, this time off the water.

Kostecki is the unanimous winner of Sailing World magazine's prestigious Medal of Achievement award in the Crew category. The announcement is in the "Leading Edge" column of the sailing magazine's March edition. The accolades are handed out annually by the Sailing World editorial staff to sailors who have exhibited exemplary performance during the preceding year.

The write-up reads: "With all first-place votes, John Kostecki was another runaway winner. As tactician, Kostecki won the Mumm 36 World Championship aboard Thomas I Punkt and also the Steinlager Line 7 Grand Prix Match Race regatta (with skipper Paul Cayard)."

For additional information on the man Paul Cayard once described as "the best sailor in the world," see John Kostecki's biography.
