Daily Report, July 12, 1999

It was another great day for the AmericaOne team in Southern California. The operations are in full swing, with AUS 31 sailing/tuning off the coast of San Pedro, CA, USA 49 getting the final touches completed at our compound before her christening on July 17, and our second new boat under construction in Costa Mesa, CA a few miles away from our compound.

I had the pleasure of sailing on AUS 31 today. Our goal is to have the boat all tuned up, rig, instruments, sails, etc. We are ahead of schedule and feel we only need one more day of sailing before AUS 31 is ready for a two-boat tuning session.

Our new boat, USA 49, is getting prepared for sailing by our shore team, sailing team, and some outside consultants. There is huge progress every day on the boat and we are all looking forward to sailing on it. The design gurus were here yesterday looking the USA 49 over, double checking everything making sure it is ready to go and I might add it is looking good and FAST!

Our second new IACC boat is coming along rapidly as well. We have a very impressive team of boat builders assembled with the regulars at the Westerly Marine yard and charging full speed ahead. It is incredible how fast a racing machine like this can be built!

I am looking forward to seeing many of our sponsors, supporters, friends and families this Saturday, July 17, at USA 49's christening.
