Daily Report, February 19, 1999
Amazing is the word for today's sailing! When you are seven weeks into a training session and the daily grind is starting to wear you down you are picked up and revitalized after a day like today.
We were all focused on the boat and making sure nothing would break and take away what was shaping out to be a perfect day of weather for one of these America's Cup boats. No stone was left unturned and we were repaid with two great races against America True. The starts were tight and the racing was fierce. All of our coaching from match racing expert Chris Law was paying off as we found ourselves bobbing and weaving with our opponent throughout the races.
This is the stuff that is building us into a winning team and I think everyone was satisfied with today's sailing. We had a few guests from our shipping sponsor, ANZDL, onboard to sail with us. ANZDL will be taking all of our containers and boat back home to California for our summer's training. Tomorrow is shaping up to be a little lighter in wind and we are scheduled to race True one more time.
Have a great weekend,
Morgan Larson
