AUCKLAND, NZ - February 16, 1999 - Stay tuned to the AmericaOne website as we post reports from the team during its intensive two-month training program in Auckland, New Zealand.

Daily Report, February 16, 1999

Tuesday provided another great day of sailing and training on the Hauraki Gulf for AmericaOne. We had excellent conditions on the course outside Auckland Harbor with the winds in the 16-18 knot range. It has been very windy the last week, too windy to sail the America's Cup boats, so today was very productive for us. Again, we were racing/training with America True.

Tonight we are hosting an informal party at our compound. We have invited Team New Zealand and the Italian Prada syndicate .... we are all looking forward to seeing and socializing with these other teams. We have had such a busy schedule that we have not had much time to see some of our friends on the other teams. Like us, they have busy schedules.

Our group has 12 more training days left here in New Zealand, then we will be traveling back to the States. Some of our team will race the Congressional Cup in Long Beach, California March 7-13. We will also be racing the Steinlager Match Race here in Auckland, New Zealand, March 22-27. I am looking forward to taking part in these match races .... this will give us the opportunity to compete against the top match racers in the world, including some of the top America's Cup skippers
