AmericaOne New Zealand Chronicles:
Two Boat Testing

Daily Report - Thursday, December 19, 1999 -

Auckland, NZ

I have just returned from the International Olympic Sydney Regatta getting my Finn program started for our upcoming trials. The perspective of having been away and then coming back to sail on the boats is unique. What you see when you come back are the effects of the changes that have been made within the organization from sails and keels, to personnel and skill level of the team. The fact that the semi-finals are the next event also elevatesthe intensity.

Today both USA 49 and USA 61 tested in winds that ranged from 12 to 21 knots. The confidence within the team has gone to a new level. The spirit of two boat testing pushes everyone to excel and the competitiveness shows in the practice starts. The roles within the team are defining themselves and manifesting positively. After six hours of two boat testing each day the crew is pleased with the progress of both boats. We are confident we are going in the right direction.

All the best and thanks for supporting our team and let us know what you think. WE enjoy the feedback.
